Program Officer, AIDS and livelihoods program, PACT (Kunming)

Overview
AIDS and livelihoods program implemented by Pact and hosted through the International HIV/AIDS Alliance China Office seeks a Program Officer. Program Officer will work on livelihoods strengthening initiative for and with people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) and most at risk populations (MARPs) in Yunnan and Guangxi provinces. This is an opportunity for a professional with a strong background in business and/or economic development to contribute to an innovative program using market oriented approaches for social change.
Program Officer will report to China Program Manager and work closely with the program team. A substantial amount of work will be done in close collaboration with PLHA and MARP support groups and their members.

Location: Kunming, Yunnan, China

Pact (www.pactworld.org) is an international NGO whose mission is to build empowered communities and responsible private institutions that give people an opportunity for a better life. Pacts work in China is a part of Greater Mekong Regional (GMR) Program covering Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and China. The program contributes to an effective response to HIV/AIDS, with a focus on creating income generation opportunities for PLHA and MARPs through small and medium enterprise development and vocational and employability skills training. Currently Pact is partnering with five support groups of PLHA and MARPs. The groups are implementing five distinct livelihoods strengthening initiatives which vary depending on group membership, needs of group members, resources and skills already available to group members and type of and opportunities in the local economy.
