Lumigenex, a fast growing biotech company with a focus on diagnostics and infection control, is hiring a Director of Diagnostics to lead the company-wide effort for developing rapid diagnostic technologies and products. Your primary efforts will be in the leadership, management and execution of pre-clinical projects, clinical partnerships and platform technology development and improvements for various projects. You will be responsible for the development and integration of all aspects of each new diagnostic product. The successful candidate will lead our highly trained team doing cutting-edge proprietary technology development.

The candidate must be a highly effective leader, communicator and motivator with broad experience in analytical biochemistry, molecular and cell biology and immunology. As the leader of Diagnostics, this individual will manage both the personnel and technology aspects of Lumigenex rapid diagnostic platform, and thus must be highly skilled in diagnostic techniques and very knowledgeable in POC products development. You will be expected to have outstanding skills at communication, team discipline, partnering, and decision-making that are valuable to the success of the companys collaborative activities.

Leadership


Lead our diagnostic team on rapid diagnostic products development. Team members that report to you include MD and PhD and technical staff with expertise in Pathology, Histology, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering and Electronic Engineering.

Direct activities for diagnostic projects that define innovative approaches for medical diagnostics.

Guide and implement Lumigenex partnerships for pre-clinical and clinical programs

Represent Discovery and Project team activities to management. Ensure the completion of milestones and timelines with team leadership


Demonstrate personal commitment, energy and focus for the benefit of motivating Lumigenex staffs and for advancing rapid diagnostic technologies.

Communication and Innovation


Practice outstanding external relationships with partners, collaborators and interested parties through articulation of the vision and commitment of Lumigenex.


Motivate others to work effectively in a fast-paced Research and Development environment

Engage scientific and clinical perspectives for innovations in diagnostics


Explain complex hypothesis, concepts, discoveries and applications in the public arena

Routinely and effectively communicate progress to executives, scientific/clinical advisory boards, partnerships and collaborators

Exercise and broaden a deep understanding of biological mechanism and their interactions in disease diagnostics.

Apply creative thinking toward connecting clinical applications with POC products.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:


Ph.D. in Pathology, Molecular and Cell Biology, or Analytical Biochemistry or related field. Post doctoral training is an asset.

Diagnostic products Research and Development expertise, expertise in POCT is desired.

Experience with immunological assays, biochemical assays, and fluorescence analysis is a must
