Staidson Biopharmaceuticals has been certified as a Chinese High-tech Enterprise and honored as a Top 20 Promising Public Company in China (2012).  Role DescriptionThe candidate is expected to make major contributions to the generation and development of best-in-class and /or first-in-class antibody therapeutics to address critical unmet medical needs. The successful candidate will be the director of Antibody Engineering Department and supervise an antibody research and development team consisting of 20-25 scientists and staffs. This group executes the high-throughput screening, purification, characterization and cell line development of antibodies to support the discovery and development of therapeutic antibodies. The successful candidate, an antibody expert, will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate strategies for therapeutic antibody discovery and development are put in place to progress the discovery projects from lead generation to candidate nomination and beyond. Additionally, this hire will be responsible for the general management of research activities relating to the development of therapeutic antibodies, actively participate on project teams, and advise team scientists on all aspects of antibody technologies.  QualificationsPhD in Immunology or related disciplines with minimum 5-year professional experience in a well-known biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry in the area of antibody discovery and development.Demonstrated record of scientific accomplishment, including publications and patents.A commanding understanding of various aspects of monoclonal antibody generation including immunization strategies (standard hybridoma, phage display, etc.), screening process, binding and functional characterization, leading to the selection of lead antibodies using robust criteria and progression path.Rich knowledge and experience of downstream activities (including antibody engineering, humanization and cell line development) are highly valued. Knowledge and experience of newer modalities such as antibody drug conjugates or bi-specific and/or experience with challenging target classes for antibody generation would be desirable.Excellent scientific and communication skills including strong influencing and negotiating skills Previous experience in working collaboratively with external partners or groups within the organizationAbility to succeed in an interactive drug-discovery and drug-development environment
