职位描述:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with corporate patent attorneys and R&D scientists:
1. Support for upstream research and product development on intellectual property related issues
2. Development of offensive and defensive intellectual property strategy for core technologies and strategic business objects
3. Planning, implementation, and coordination of patent protection for J &J Consumer worldwide R&D and product development
External interaction: Occasional interaction with outside counsels and other patent practitioners
Responsibilities:
. Participation of research and product development project meetings and updates, meeting with scientists and inventors on IP related issues
. Review invention disclosures, search and review prior art references, meeting with inventors and managers to develop invention ideas for better patent filing strategy
. Meeting with inventors, project managers, and technology platform or franchise leaders for patent and right to market issues, IP strategies etc.
. Evaluation of IP landscape and development of IP strategy for J&J core technologies and platforms
. Draft patent applications and response to office action
. Supporting patent attorneys for various IP activities such as foreign filing, assignment and declaration, licensing and acquisitions etc.
Qualifications:
. A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required, Advanced Degree preferred. Science related major is required.
. The patent liaison is expected to pass the patent agent examination at the Chinese State Intellectual Property Office SIPO (or the European EPO or the American USPTO) within a few years. It is not necessary, but preferred that the person has passed the examination already.
. Previous experience in R&D as a research scientist.
. Excellent communication skill.
. Excellent language skill in English and in Chinese
